Composition
Sterile aqueous solution containing:
-Oxytetracycline Dihydrarat Ph.Eur. equivalent of 200 mg/ml oxytetracycline base.

Indications
Alamycin LA is specially designed to ensure a lasting action consisting of sustained antibacterial activity. Blood levels persist for at least 4 days.
As a result of intramuscular administration, the maximum blood level is reached after 4 to 8 hours, making Alamycin LA suitable for the treatment of acute infections.
Oxitetracycline has been shown to be effective for in vitro treatment of the following bacterial species:
- Bordetella bronchiseptica, Corynebacterium pyogenes, Erysiplothrix rhusiopathiae, Escherichia coli, Haemophilus somnus, Pasteurella haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Salmonella dublin, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus agalactiae, Streptococcus faecallis, Streptococcus pyogenes and Streptococcus uberis.
Alamycin LA is indicated for the treatment of bovine animals, sheep and soot for:
- atrophic rhinitis caused by Bordetella bronchiseptica, Pasteurella haemolytica and Pasteurella multocida;
- joint disease/omphalophlebitis caused by Corynebacterium pyogenes, E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus;
- mastitis caused by Corynebacterium pyogenes, E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus agalactiae and Streptococcus uberis;
- metrics caused by E. coli and Streptococcus pyogenes;
- pasteurelose and respiratory tract infections caused by Pasteurella haemolytica and Pasteurella multicida;
- septicaemia caused by Salmonella dublin and Streptococcus pyogenes;
- the jet caused by Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae.
Alamycin LA can also be used to control enzootic abortion in sheep.

Dosage and mode of administration
The recommended dose is 20 mg/kg body weight (1 ml/10 kg body weight) by deep intramuscular injection.
The product is recommended for a single administration. The maximum dose that can be administered at a single point is:
Cattle: 15 ml
Pigs: 10 ml
Sheep: 5 ml
Piglets: first day 0.2 ml
7 days 0.3 ml
14 days 0.4 ml
21 days 0.5 ml
over 21 days 1 ml/10 kg.

Waiting time
Milk should not be used for human consumption during treatment. Milk intended for human consumption can only be put into use 10 days after the last treatment. Milk intended for human consumption from sheep can only be put into use 7 days after the last treatment.
During treatment, animals will not be sacrificed for human consumption. Cattle may be slaughtered for human consumption only 31 days after the last treatment. Pigs can only be slaughtered for human consumption 18 days after the last treatment. Sheep can only be slaughtered for human consumption 9 days after the last treatment.

Contraindications, warnings
Alamycin LA is not intended for horses, dogs and cats.
Never dilute Alamycin LA!
Although Alamycin LA is well tolerated, sometimes a slight transient local reaction can be observed at the site of inoculation.
Do not use in animals with kidney or liver disease.
The use of tetracyclines during the growth of teeth and bones including the last part of gestation, can lead to their discoloration.
If another product is used simultaneously, inject in separate points.
Wash your hands after use. In case of contact with the skin or eyes wash immediately with water.

Pharmaceutical precautions
Do not store at temperatures above 25oC. Stay away from the light.
Keep out of the reach of children!
After opening the vial, use the contents of the vial within 28 days.
After opening the bottle for the first time, the product usage deadline will be passed.

Other information
Stored as such maintains its effectiveness 2 years from the date of manufacture. After opening and exposing the product to air, the contents of the vial may darken but retain their effectiveness. The handling of the unused product and the empty bottle is carried out according to the local regulations in force.
